What can we say that hasn’t already been said about the famous pasty? Well, we can’t call them ‘Cornish Pasties” as we make ours here on our premises in Plymouth Devon; Cornish Pasties have to be made in Cornwall to a traditional Cornish recipe.
So, is ours a Plymouth Pasty? A Devon Pasty? Or just a Pasty? We don’t really care what you call them, it’s the incredible flavour that counts. And, more importantly, it’s what our customers think that matters. They tell us they’re the best they’ve tasted east of the Tamar. Wow! Thank you.
We make ours using quality beef skirt (no mince) cut into cubes, and plenty of it. We than add potato, suede and onion, and a generous sprinkling of salt and pepper. Pretty traditional stuff really. These ingredients are enveloped in a lovely puff pastry which crisps up beautifully in the oven. Yum!
Oh yes, they’re side crimped too, which we understand is the “proper” way to do it.
Talking of crimping, we have short pasty making video for you where you can see our legendary super speedy crimper in action.
